Gives Me Hope.com

Hi everybody

I downloaded this application on my phone. It's called GMH
I then realised that all the stories were actually from the actual website
GivesMeHope.com
The stories are all really inspiring and beautiful
Though some of the people commenting are so rude and such!
Don't get influenced!
A few of the best stories is(So says my phone/ratings) and I love the stories too:

'I woke up one morning to hear the birds singing and my mother cooking breakfast downstairs. I've never cried so much in my entire life. I've been deaf since the age of 8' (There is always hope This is voted No. 1)

'Today, I found GMH. After reading all the heartwarming stories, I walked into my room and tore my suicide journal to shreds. I'm shaking out of happiness. GMH.' (This guy's amazing :D)

'During WW||, my friend's grandpa was captured and tortured, but he refused to reveal his mission. The Japanese said if he didn't spill, they would kill the other five captured men. He wouldn't budge. He escaped, but he had to live with their blood on his hands. 25 years later, he found out they all lived. Not a single one talked. GMH.' (Inspirational. The things people do for their country... Just like Lim Bo Seng)

Just something to add. These stories are not necessarily from Singapore

CmPS abused cats pictures

my CmPS project is about abused cats (we are supposed to help them and are working with SPCA)
Our Underlying Problem (what keeps the project going):
How might we educate the public through our school on the responsibilities of pet ownership so as to decrease the no. of cases of cat abuse.
I got some pictures in here and wanted to post them .
the right one: ouch! the cat was speared but lived through it!!!!
the left one: abandoned cat. someone took a picture. Think it motivates some people =P it says: world 2 big, i 2 little. home plz...
saddening isn't it, how the cats are abused in this way. (abandonment is a type of abuse.)

Model Pupil Dies in Accident

NINE-YEAR-OLD Mindy Neo was so excited about returning to school after the one-week break that she slept early just so she could wake up feeling fresh the next morning.
But the girl, who would have been 10 next month, never made it to class on Monday after an accident involving a van while she was crossing Buangkok Drive at about 6.45am.
The Primary 4 prefect at Punggol Primary School was flung about 20m on impact and died in hospital two hours later.
The 24-year-old Indonesian maid who was with Mindy at the time was injured and is now warded in Changi Hospital with head and back injuries.
The accident is believed to have occurred when the red van turned right from from Punggol Road into Buangkok Drive. Mindy and her maid were using the pedestrian crossing at the time, although it is not clear if the traffic lights were in their favour at the time.
Mindy's parents were distraught yesterday and her father, Mr Neo Hwee Choon, 43, was in tears when he spoke to reporters before her wake yesterday morning.
Just last month, father and daughter composed a song - 'Teachers' Day Love Song' - on a piano he bought her recently.
Mindy went on to record the tune onto CDs and presented them to her teachers on Teachers' Day. Mindy's death was also a blow to her principal, teachers and classmates, who described her as 'creative, intelligent and humble'.
Police have arrested the 63-year-old van driver on suspicion of causing death through a rash or negligent act, offences which could see him jailed for a maximum sentence of five years and fined.
The police are appealing for eyewitnesses and anyone with information should call the Traffic Police on 1800-547-1818.

Rammie and Robbie

They are my dear chinchillas, Rammie and Robbie.

My husband and I were very sad when we had to bring them back to school. It was a difficult decision as they are so much a part of our life. We would play with them everyday. We needed to bring them back to school because my husband is on long business trips these few months and my doctor told me not to be exposed to animals for too long. Better be safe than sorry. I cried when they left the house.

I am looking forward to bring them back home when my baby is born next year and we can be reunited again. Meanwhile, will have to rely on Creature Watch to take good care of them.

The Relief Teacher

Hi all,
Well I'm not talking about Mdm Lee. She's nice!
I'm talking about the new relief teacher. She's fierce and even wants to us to do our presentation tomorrow when my group hasn't even finish! She also says she wants us to stay back tomorrow. The whole class! But she also helps when Benjamin doesn't want to do his share. But most of us don't really like her.

Updates

Hi everyone!

Thanks, Shannon, for your concern.

I miss the class very much. How are things in school? I know you have a new relief teacher. Please keep me updated about the relief teacher. Both good and not so good things so i am informed.

I have great and terrific news for those who have yet to find out what happened. I am pregnant! I am very thrilled and excited.

My gynaecologist (a doctor who takes care of women's health and pregnant ladies) advised me to rest at home so that the baby can develop well. I can't quite be as active and i need to rest and lie down more so that i would not get too tired.

Initially, i would get nauseous and uncomfortable. Currently, it has become slightly better. My appetite has improved and i have to eat healthy food and fruits to give my baby the nutrition he or she needs.

The entire pregnancy will take about 9 months and i am now about 13 weeks pregnant. I could see the baby while the gynaecologist does ultrasound scans for me. It is such a wonderful sight for both my husband and I to see the baby move and sometimes waving the arms.

I would share the pictures with the class when i am back in school.

Do continue to work hard and enjoy your time in school.

Love,
Mdm Chan

Cool Author!

Hi all,

Yes, it's me again. I know I said I'll show you guys pictures and a video, but I think this is quite awesome. This author's called Faith Ng. Cool name huh? Anyway, she is in Primary 6 and she has managed to write a book. Let me give you more details about the book.
Title: Happily evr after (and no, I did not spell the evr wrongly. :( )
Genre: Teenage Fiction (but I still bought the book. Man! That was a big mistake. It's all teenage stuff!)
Cover: Beaauuuuuuuuuutiful! It was beautiful! :) I loved the cover! The cover had a picture, of a boy and a girl (very young) holding hands, on a meadow i think. The picture was clear and beautiful. Have you heard "a picture means a thousand words"? Well, it's true. By just looking at the picture, you can like guess that it is about what. You might be able to guess the plot too.
About: Childhood sweethearts. Grew up being very close friends. Later, when they grew up more, became boyfriend, girlfriend. Ewww! Teenage stuff. But I still idolise Faith though. And by the way, I didn't read finish the book, it was too, ummm "teenagy". I hope that I can be like Faith one day. I just hope that I will be able to write a book. But I might never get the chance, maybe I will... Oh, and if you want to find uot more, you could go to this website.http://www.faiththeauthor.com I hope you guys understand that it is not easy for Faith, coming up with so many ideas. The book is quite a long one. I can lend it to you, if you want that is. Just tell me when school reopens. :)

Shannon

one more:
There was one man who went to another country and he went to the beach.
He saw the wave was very nice so he took out ALL his clothes and jumped into the water. After he was done swimming,he found that his clothes was stolen except his hat.
so he used his hat to cover his private part and he went back to the hotel. One old lady saw him and laughed.
The man was very angry and said: " If u were a lady, u wouldn't be laughing!!"
The old woman said: " If you were a man, you would remove your hat!!"
If u dont understand its because when a man greets people in some countries, they take their hat off their heads so take the hat off!!!

Mount Brinchang

The breathtaking view at the summit of Mount Brinchang

The spectacular view from the foliage nearing the summit

There were many sections of steep climbs. We were lucky we had a pleasant weather. The ground was not too wet nor muddy.

Evidence to support what Shannon said about her muddy pants. My shoe got stuck in mud once! But it was all good fun to be within nature.

I was proud of myself for conquering Mount Brinchang and i am sure Shannon would have felt the same way too.

To those who have not been to Cameron Highlands, you should go there someday. It is a relaxing place with a cool climate and lots to see.
